A Star on the Road to Success
Kalambay signed a full scholarship at St-Vincent University in Pennsylvania. The 18 year old athlete will be playing basketball for the next 4 years in the United States. In receiving the scholarship Trésor is living his dream, with the benefit of a bursary of $100 000 American over 4 years.
After leading his school in points, rebounds and steals during the last two seasons, Trésor largely contributed to the Bronze medal ACMT received at OFSAA in London in March of 2005. He also brought the team to the elimination rounds in the Hamilton catholic league, won a Bronze medal in 2005 as well as a Gold in 2004 at the Franco championship, received a Bronze medal in 2004 and a Gold in 2005 at the Hamilton Christmas classics. In addition, he contributed to a 7 victory and 1 defeat rep sheet in the pre-season tournament at Ste-Famille, a Silver medal at the Mohawk college tournament and many more. With him, our team won two times the GHAC championship ( Golden horseshoe athletic conference) in 2004 and 2005.
Trésor left a lasting impression wherever he went. For example, not only was he an honour roll student at ACMT, but he was also called to the All-Star city team twice, was selected best player during the Deamon College tournament in Buffalo NY, was regularly selected to be part of All-Star teams at most tournaments he participated in, won the city dunk contest in 2005 (by jumping over 2 people!), and scored 45 points in Windsor during the battle for the bronze game in the Franco tournament in 2005. Trésor was also part of the Ancaster MAGIC teams (a civil club) with whom he won the Ontario Cup in 200? and 2003. He played with PHASE 1, a program of the elite from Toronto and with the MISSION club with whom he travelled to Las Vegas in the summer of 2004. He equally helped Ontario in winning the Gold at the Canadian Championships.
Furthermore, Trésor participated actively in the school’s life by implicating himself in the choir, the religion committee, helped organize the athletic banquet, and helped organize activities for the Black Heritage Month, just to name a few.
All the school personnel joins Mr. Vaillancourt, his coach, in congratulating Trésor for his outstanding performance and to wish him luck in his future projects.
